![]() I started Tattooing in 1989 mostly as a request from a childhood friend who thought I would be good at it.(He still wears the first one proudly) As a kid always drawing and doodling I thought I would check it out. After tattooing for fun in my house for a few years and continuing to work as a Graphic Artist full time, I decided - with a little push from Pat Sinatra of Pats Tats of Woodstock, NY - to open a studio in my hometown of Poughkeepsie.I Had that studio for about 7 years and decided to move a few doors down and take on a partner in crime.... John (Thunderscratch) Flewellen. We were a great team me doing all forms of tattoos and John pretty much sticking to what he knew best "OLD SCHOOL". John unfortunatley lost his battle with Cancer and passed away on December 11th 2003. Just less than two months later I lost the entire shop to fire. Fortunate for me that in the Poughkeepsie area Tattooist are a pretty tight knit group and they all came together to help and I opened a third studio exactly 30 days later. Cudos to all who were there for me in my time of need and to the fuckers who should have been SEE YOU IN HELL... During my first few years the art of tattooing in my area was still considered a well kept secret.( I even tried to get Thunderscratch to help me out). Not to many other Tattoo Artists would let you in on this secret.Even one of my older brothers was heavily tattooed and wanted to break in to this business but to no avail. After he passed away I thought that it would be cool for me to follow his dreams and I believe he looks down on me from time to time making sure I do it right. So as a self-taught artist the artist's who continue to inspire me are Brian Everett, Pat Sinatra, Jack Rudy, Guy Atchison and Joe Capobianco, just to name a few. Over the years I have tattooed at many conventions around the country and in Canada, including Meeting of the Marked, Artistry in Ink, Philadelphia Eddies, Forged in Ink, New York Tattoo Expo and Am-Jam. As well as numerous Motorcycle/Tattoo shows including Daytona, Sturgis, Laconia and many Easyrider events. During this time I have won numerous awards which can be viewed on my gallery page, and strive towards a goal to win more. At the moment I have no particular tattooing style that I specialize in, but I enjoy the challenge in every tattoo I execute. I have also learned to do exotic body piercing and have found this part of our industry very interesting to put it lightly… In conclusion I believe that tattooing has grown tremendously over the past 10-15 years and I am proud to be part of an elite and absolutely amazing form of art.
